Atiku writes open letter to Nigerians, vows to get justice at Supreme Court

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate in the February 23 election, Atiku Abubakar, has written an open letter of gratitude to Nigerians in which he vowed to get justice at the Supreme Court. This latest move by Atiku is coming days after the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in Abuja confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari won the poll which has been described by some Nigerians as controversial. In his letter to Nigerians, the PDP’s presidential candidate said that although the battle to get rid of corruption and alleged dictatorship in the country is a tough one, the continuous support of the public shown to him so far makes the fight worthwhile. He went on to say that the amount of backing he has garnered from Nigerians has strengthened his resolve to seek justice by appealing the tribunal’s verdict at the Supreme Court. Atiku said: “We must return to being Africa’s bastion of democracy, where the rights to freedom of speech and freedom after the speech, are guaranteed. “We must stand together to pursue this just cause all the way so that our judiciary is not afraid to do their jobs and have to be wary of blackmail, intimidation, and victimisation.” PAY ATTENTION: Get the Latest Nigerian News Anywhere 24/7.
