– Eden Hazard has come out to admit he never doubted Frank Lampard’s managerial suitability
– Chelsea are enjoying an impressive run of results after a difficult start to the season
– The London club are third on the league standings with 26 points
Real Madrid playmaker Eden Hazard has heaped praise on Frank Lampard following Chelsea’s blistering form since taking over as manager.
Despite enduring a difficult start to the new season, Lampard has managed to turn around Chelsea’s fortunes, with the club now enjoying a terrific run of results in all competitions.
The Blues currently sit third on the standings with 26 points, one better than reigning league champions Man City.
Hazard, who spent close to seven years at Stamford Bridge has now come out to reveal he has kept touch with his old club, adding he was in no doubt about Lampard’s managerial credentials.
“I know Frank as a player, not as a manager, but he’s a great guy. He’s showed already after four months that he can be one of the best managers in the world,” Hazard told reporters while on international duty. The Belgian playmaker further lauded Chelsea’s move to promote the youngsters who have since shown under Lampard.
“The good thing is that they are playing with young players, young English players. For England it’s good, for Chelsea’s it’s good. They are lucky to have young players with quality,” he noted.
Lampard has promoted a host of Chelsea youngsters including Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham with the trio playing an important role in the club’s resurgence.
Meanwhile, Hazard is yet to hit top form since his big-money switch to Real Madrid in the summer.
Man City are keen to retain the league title for the third consecutive season under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola but lie in 4th position on the Premier League log and face a tricky contest when they host Chelsea at the Etihad this weekend.
