Osinbajo leads technology roadshow in U.S.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will today lead a three-day public-private sector collaborative investment road show in the United States of America. The road show is targeted at showing the level of improvements in Nigeria’s technology and industrial sectors to the world. Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Laolu Akande, in a statement yesterday, said Osinbajo while the US would be speaking to global industry leaders in information technology and entertainment at the Silicon Valley in San Francisco and Hollywood in Los Angeles, California.

The road show is scheduled for July 9th to 11th July. The Vice President left Nigeria for the event yesterday. He said that Osinbajo would be joined on the investment road show by members of the recently inaugurated Advisory Group on Technology and Creativity – an integral part of the National Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council. According to Akande, the event primarily is to showcase the continued improvement in Nigeria’s business environment to entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders in both American cities.

“During the trip, Osinbajo will emphasize on a number of the Buhari administration’s policies such as the Ease of Doing Business reforms, which have improved the country’s ranking in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index 2017. In the World Bank Doing Business index, Nigeria climbed up 24 places and was placed on the list of 10 most reformed economies globally.
