Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central has revealed the implication of police laying siege at residences of the Senate President,Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Recall that Police on Tuesday morning blocked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s convoy at Lake Chad junction in Abuja.

Saraki was reportedly on his way to report to the police headquarters after he was invited for questioning by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris over Offa bank robbery when the incident happened.

Also, the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday morning laid siege to the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Abuja.

Sani, while reacting said the invasion of the Senate leaders has dented the image of the government.

According to him, this has undermined Nigeria’s democracy.

The Kaduna lawmaker on his Twitter page wrote: “The siege on the House of the Senate President and the invasion of the House of the Deputy Senate President is an utterly condemnable act.

“It rubbishes the image of the Government & undermines our democracy.”
