A member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, representing Pengana State Constituency, Hon. Ezekiel Afon, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died yesterday afternoon. Afon’s death came barely 24 hours after he won his re-election.
The lawmaker slumped and died before he was rushed to the hospital. He was aged 55. A member of the family said Afon died while celebrating with family, friends and supporters at home.
He added that the legislator was hale and hearty and was full of life while rejoicing over him his victory. Until his death, Afon was the Chief Whip in the state House of Assembly. He is survived by his wife and four children.
